Your time at Moss Park has come to an end

Uncategorized  Tagged , 6 Comments »

Well, it doesn’t seem like 2 minutes ago that you all arrived in the Juniors for the first time as Year 3 pupils, but 4 years of hard work and fun have finally come to an end.

Both myself and Mr Boyer want to say how much we have enjoyed having all of you in our classes this year. You have been a credit to yourselves and Moss Park, and we are sure you will continue to succeed at your new schools. As a final present from us, here are the photographs from the leavers’ party and assembly.

All the teachers hope you have a fantastic time next year and beyond, whilst not forgetting where you came from. We wish you all the best of luck for the future.

Solar Eclipse

Uncategorized  Tagged 3 Comments »

A truly amazing experience was had by everyone this morning, as the moon passed in front of the sun, creating a solar eclipse. The best views were had in the reflection of the classroom windows, allowing us to get a great image of the partial sun without having to look at it directly.

Take a look at the pictures from today, as well as some great videos from the BBC.

World Book Day

World Book Day was celebrated this year in a fantastic display of costumes to show off our favourite book characters. As always, the effort on display was incredible! Here is a selection of some of the best taken throughout the day:

Year 6 children took part in skittleball practices this half term, in preparation for a tournament to be held at Stretford Leisure Centre. Every child who attended really improved their skills, and made picking the teams for the tournament a near impossible task. A big well done to everyone who came!

At the tounament, both teams who represented Moss Park were great ambassadors for our school. Even though it didn’t finish until 7pm, well past Mr Richards’ bedtime, the players worked hard to the end, losing in the final after a tough match. It was a great result for some excellent play and teamwork.

Year 6 improved their cycling skills this week, taking part in Trafford’s Bikeability scheme. Despite poor weather at times, the instructors commented how brilliant the children were and how well they developed as the week progressed. They were a real credit to themselves and the school.

This year we will again be attempting to break the world record for the most amount of people signing at once! Currently the record stands at 144,500 people, so everyone  needs to play their part.

The world record song this year is called ‘Joining Hands Together’. We will of course be practising it in school, but you can find a video of it here you want to give it a go at home! (You will need to copy and paste the link into the address bar at the top)

Ruby’s Fundraising

Uncategorized 5 Comments »

A huge ‘well done’ to Ruby who has had so much of her hair cut off, in order to use it to make wigs for children who are poorly and have lost their hair. Ruby chose to do this all on her own. We are very proud of you Ruby, and think that you are very kind and selfless indeed. You are a superstar!
